15+ years of experience working with creative, corporate, nonprofit and higher education teams to solve complex user and business problems through effective digital experiences.

Born to Dominican (the Commonwealth of Dominica, not the Dominican Republic) parents in DC, raised in Maryland, and adulting in Durham, many refer to me as hardworking and joke about my greed for employment. My passion and determination have allowed me to live the life that I couldn’t have imagined. If someone told me that I’d be helping to build a small business, teaching college-level courses and pursuing a career as a project and product manager, I would not have believed them. So, here’s how it all happened…

As a child, I aspired to be an artist and during high school, my art teacher recommended a career in graphic design.

So, I enrolled in North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) visual communications program. After 3.5 years of studying, I began my career as a freelancer and design professional at Kompleks Creative, a Durham startup design studio. One year later, NCCU employed me to become a communications specialist in its Public Relations office.

Many would’ve quit one job to pursue another. Not me, that’s when the grind began.

While Kompleks allowed me to develop my leadership skills, NCCU introduced me to marketing, which I grew to love.
I created and managed the university's overarching social media accounts and trained faculty and staff on best practices.

The pursuit of my MBA seemed like the next best step, so I enrolled in NCCU’s program. My passion for management and entrepreneurship flourished, as project management piqued my interest. After realizing that my role at NCCU wouldn’t provide what I needed to explore this new interest, I redefined my role at Kompleks and eventually left NCCU.

Desiring corporate and global experience, I joined IBM in a project manager capacity & then RTI International as a digital product manager.

And, no, I didn’t leave Kompleks. Actually, I delved into business process engineering and jumped at the opportunity to teach graphic design courses to undergraduate students at NCCU.

Throughout all of this, I’ve still managed to create art and travel. So, I can’t complain and am excited about what’s next to come!
